Matt Sem
Matt Sem is all about the 80’s. From music to movies to fashion, etc. He still has a VHS player, Boombox, Cassette Tapes and lots of Big League Chew. “I had to upgrade to a lighter TV though.” Matt enjoys humor and staying fit for a healthy lifestyle. An accomplished Tennis player and Teaching Professional of more than 25 years. Matt has a bachelor’s degree from Spring Arbor University. He resides in Wausau, Wisconsin. The ’86 Kids is his first book.
Matt is currently working on his second book Catch and Release, inspired by the song “Catch and Release” by the Silversun Pickups. At the same time he is working on another memoir entitled Glimpses, a look at Benzodiazepine dependency, withdrawal and eventual recovery. He is also putting the finishing touches on a collection of vignettes called “There are Monsters Among Us”. More information to follow at a later date or upon request.
Matt is also an avid drummer and also a music aficionado. With the 80’s being his favorite decade of music along with the 70’s and 90’s. Also a big lover of movies especially older movies from the 80’s.
Matt likes and plays all types of sports as well. His main concentration is tennis but close behind that is basketball. Baseball is also on his radar as well as he played in Little League as a Pitcher and Shortstop. His favorite team is the Los Angeles Dodgers.
A Wausau, Wisconsin native Matt has lived in many places in the country. Eau Claire, Hartland, and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. As well as Cleveland, Ohio and Wilson, North Carolina. He has also traveled to many cities throughout the country too.
